Utah Symphony 2020/21 Season

After canceling and/or rescheduling their 2020/21 season summer performances, the Utah Symphony looks to September to resume their season.

Classical music lovers in Utah let out a collective sigh when the Utah Symphony canceled summer performances for the 2020-21 season. The symphony initially postponed the season until May 23, then subsequently went on to cancel and/or rescheduled all of the summer performances.

At the time, the symphony released the following:

“We are deeply saddened to cancel live symphony and opera performances but want to assure everyone that this cancellation is temporary and we will be back! We hope to resume performing this summer with free community concerts, the Deer Valley® Music Festival in Park City, and certainly later this fall,” said Utah Symphony | Utah Opera interim President and CEO Patricia A. Richards. “As stewards of the arts, Utah Symphony | Utah Opera places priority on the safety and wellbeing of everyone in our community. We are heartbroken to cancel live performances, and continue to harness the incredible healing power of music to connect communities across Utah.”

Concerts will tentatively resume in September

According the the Utah Symphony website, it appears that September is the earliest we might see our great symphony…but no guarantees. The symphony website states they will reassess the status of upcoming events as they receive information from local health department and government officials.

…this cancellation is temporary and we will be back!

So keep you fingers crossed that we see improvements in the pandemic situation. In the meantime, explore the Utah Symphony website, which has a lot of online stories and video content, as well as the schedule for the Utah Symphony 2020/21 Season.
