The video interview, includes three members of the Salt Lake rock band Royal Bliss and was shot at one of our favorite local clubs…you guessed it, The Royal in Murray, Utah.
In the first part of this two-part interview, vocalist Neil Middleton talks to Alan Roy Carrington about how he first joined the band and relates a few stories from that period. Most interesting was Middleton’s comments about how they write a lot of their music. At one point he comments, “A lot of times they’ll [the rest of the band] just jam and I’ll just make up lyrics….” He goes on to tell how during the run up to the first album, he would make up verse lyrics at every show, sticking with a “pretty much consistent chorus.” Good times!
In part two, drummer Jake Smith and bassist Brian Hennesy talk about the 20 year road that got them to where the band is today. Old busses and beat up vans, hitching rides with friends…whatever it took to get to the next gig.
Hats off to Paul Tefertiller of 3 Chords Media, and Alan Roy Carrington of Salt Lake Band Life for putting this video interview of Royal Bliss together.
We reached out to Paul to ask if there was video of Guitarist Taylor Richards floating around the inter-galaxy. Unfortunately, a break-in resulted in the loss of his hard drives and whatever he may have had with Taylor was stolen. Hey thief…if you’re reading this, Salt Lake Bard will pay cash for that hard drive! Email us here!
