Two-Headed Heart  |  Paul Jacobsen and the Madison Arm

When I first heard Two-Headed Heart, I remember feeling like I was listening to a new song from Wilco. Something about the sound, before the lyrics started, took me back to Yankee Hotel Foxtrot. Jacobsen’s vocals are heartfelt and the band delivers and excellent performance for this great song. I asked Paul what the band’s plans were, after the death of drummer Patrick Campbell in October, 2020. Jacobsen says the band hasn’t even considered a replacement. “The pandemic has forced us out of the live music world for awhile, so we haven’t really had to reckon with what to do as a band without Pat. And that has felt right in its way.” Learn more about Paul Jacobsen and the Madison Arm at pauljacobsen.com, follow them on Facebook and Instagram, stream on Spotify and Apple Music and watch the band on Youtube. – Scott Cullins

City At War | Fictionist

Back for another spin on SPW is Fictionist, with City At War. Sometimes a simple live video helps you get to know the band members…much better than an elaborate attempt—like the one for the song Free Spirit that we featured previously on SPW. Learn more about the band at fictionist.com, stream their music on Spotify and Apple Music, watch them on Youtube and follow them on Facebook and Instagram. – Norman Boland

Wait A Minute | Michelle Moonshine

Like Oh So Many Daysfeatured previously on SPWWait A Minute covers the topic of spending time without her man. I love the easy going flow of this tune, which reminds me of The Eagles in their early years.
